Keeping a low profile, they slipped into the main thoroughfare and finished the rest of Joss' treatment with no slips and no sightings of the merchants. Calypso was coming in under treaty, so it wasn't as if they could attack and take him in broad daylight on the streets of Heaven's Gate, not without violating the charter. They were bound by the procedures of the tribunal, but they could demand he be detained until the decision was rendered, a decision she didn't expect to go in their favor.

All the pirates of Calypso really needed was to produce a bill of sale and deed of ownership. She could only presume they would have that and more. They also had the threat of war at their disposal. It was too much to expect the Tribunal would risk upsetting a treaty for the sake of a prodigal daughter. She and Joss would have to run and hide. It was inevitable. This treatment had been just as harrowing as the first, but it was done, at least, and nothing was keeping them in town. She'd already refueled and loaded supplies. If they could lay low, get around the ship in orbit. It was unlikely, but the only plan she had.

She didn't tell Joss what she intended. He needed to rest. She needed to get a head start while the Tribunal was meeting.

With that in mind, she convinced Joss to lie down. It took very little persuasion as he was half out of it already. Whatever the doctor had given him was working. She heard a slight snore behind her, making her smile and look at him sprawled on his back, while she programmed in a navpoint for the last known location of her Tandi Jule Maru, the most formidable of the Maru women ever to be born.

The Misha powered up and roared into the sky, likely setting off alarms on the ground, but no one made a move to stop them. She sat down at the console. It would be an hour of low orbit flying before they reached a canyon she knew where the ship would be as hidden as the treasures in the tombs.

Jexa sat back in the swivel seat and stretched before tapping a console control that opened a small storage cabinet the console. She pulled out a long boxy scanner designed for medical facilities and hospitals. She'd feel better if she knew for herself he was undamaged by the re-sequencing. She looked at the small screen of her data pad once again where she'd received notification that his identity was in place and ready to use.

All they needed to worry about now was the gradual changes to his appearance kicking in, specifically his changed hair and eye color. She thought she might miss his fiery red hair, she smiled. His skin already looked a shade darker.

She rose and took the machine over to the bunk where Joss lay sleeping peacefully despite the obvious pain. Activating the scanner to a low hum, she watched the device read his physical condition and spit out the new identity.
